Dayton Helping Hands
We believe in helping our neighbors that's why we set up volunteer opportunities for those who want to give back to their community. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities to suit your individual skills and interests. Whether it's light yard work, dog walking, shopping, general cleanup, visitations, PC/email support, or something else, we have something for everyone. See below for some of the past projects of the Dayton Helping Hands.

Helping Hands ROCK!
On the afternoon of Friday November 3rd volunteers from the Dayton Community Connection Rocked - and rebuilt a stonewall. Earlier in the year the wall collapsed when someone stood on it and the home owner was looking for someone to help rebuild it. Small projects such as this end up being a low priority for companies - with no guarantee when they'll be done. When DCC heard about the homeowners problem they reached out to volunteers to see if anyone was interested in helping out, and the response was a resounding "yes lets Rock!" At 1:00pm on Friday November 3rd the volunteers arrived with gloves, shovels, pails, and a wheelbarrow and dug in. The unstable rocks were removed, sorted by size, and the wall rebuilt - stone by stone. The project was completed in less then 2 hours! Check out a few pictures from the day!

Bulbs and Bushes
A call for help was put out by an elderly neighbor who needed help planting bulb and bushes in his yard, work he could no longer do, due to a shoulder injury. With the fall settling in, we knew the work had to be done sooner rather than later. So on Sunday, November 5th, a couple of our volunteers went to work and planted 90 Daffodil bulbs and 50 Hyacinth bulbs, along with 2 bushes. The fruits of their labor won't show up until the spring, but the gentleman was very happy for the help!
